Shoreham Wordfest Poetry Post

We feature new poems by local writers on two public spots in the centre of Shoreham-by-Sea , curated by Kate Collier, published poet and member of Shoreham Wordfest.

If you live in the Adur area we invite you to submit a poem and accompanying picture which will be displayed either on the Marilyn Stafford Post in the Shoreham Centre or on Platform 1 at Shoreham Station.  It will be at the Curator’s discretion as to where it is placed. Poems will be changed every 3 months. You may choose to have your poem returned to you. We ask for a donation to cover the cost of printing if you do.

Winners of the Shoreham Wordfest Open Mic Slam competition held on 6 October 2024.

The Marilyn Stafford Poetry Post

Shoreham Wordfest has worked with Adur District Council to establish a Poetry Post board to be placed in The Shoreham Centre in memory of Marilyn Stafford. Marilyn was a founder member of Shoreham Wordfest and she wanted to create somewhere prominent and accessible to display poetry. This has now been agreed and the Poetry Post will stand on the right side of The Shoreham Centre entrance holding a poem on either side of the board.

Three poets who have their work displayed on the Shoreham Wordfest Poetry posts.
