The Future of Our Health Service

October 12 @ 6:30 pm

- £5.00 – £10.00 at The Sir Robert Woodard Academy

Dame Marianne Griffiths and The Right Honourable Jeremy Hunt MP. Chaired by Alastair McLellan Editor of The Health Service Journal

Dame Marianne is one of the most influential and longest-serving senior leaders in the NHS. She led West Sussex Hospitals to ‘Outstanding’ status and guided the merger of seven hospitals into what is now University Hospitals Sussex. Recently retired but still working on NHS improvement, Marianne will share her views on what can be done to ensure high quality and sustainable health services post-pandemic.

Jeremy Hunt MP is currently Chair of the Health Select Committee, having served six turbulent years as Health Secretary from 2012 – 2018.  In his recent book, Zero, Eliminating Preventable Harm and Tragedy in the NHS, he sets out a proposition to reduce avoidable deaths to zero, and in the process, save money, reduce backlogs and improve working conditions.

Marianne and Jeremy will set out their prescriptions for improvement within the NHS and then open up for discussion. The event will be chaired by Alastair McLellan, Editor of the Health Service Journal.
