For Those in Peril and The SS Suevic Story: David Parker and Galen Bartholomew A film and talk marking 200 years of the RNLI.

October 6 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

- £5.00 – £10.00 at Ropetackle Arts Centre

David Parker’s film explores the history of saving lives at sea, with some dramatic home movie material of sea disasters and rescues, first shown on the BBC. Galen Bartholomew will then talk about the Suevic Story, one of the most remarkable stories in the history of the RLNI.  In raging seas in March 1907, volunteers from four lifeboat stations in Cornwall rescued more than 600 people from two ships in trouble, including 450 people from the SS Suevic off the Lizard. The story has been researched by Galen, who had family on the vessel.
