Beyond Summerland: Jenny Lecoat in conversation with Angela Barnes

Jenny’s new novel, Beyond Summerland, is set in the aftermath of the liberation of Jersey in June 1945. It’s a page-turning story of what happens to ordinary people in extraordinary times, when faced with the worst of circumstances and the cruellest of choices. Jenny’s debut novel, The Girl from the Channel Islands, was a New York Times Top 10 bestseller, with rights sales across the world and sales of 100,000 copies in the US.. This is a moving and provocative novel of long-buried secrets, of mothers and daughters, of collaboration and betrayal, truth and redemption.

Jenny herself was born in the Channel Islands, where her parents were raised under German Occupation, before moving to England as a teenager. An early career in comedy saw her nominated for a prestigious Perrier Award in 1986 and she has enjoyed a distinguished career as a journalist and screenwriter.

Jenny will be in conversation with Angela Barnes a celebrated comedian, TV panellist and history buff.
